This position is a fully remote position.


JOB SUMMARY: Direct the administration, development and implementation of inmate programs supporting PRIDE’s statutory missions; and provide liaison to PRIDE industries and operations and the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) on all matters related to inmates assigned to PRIDE. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  1. Direct the conceptualization, design, and implementation of inmate programs to include traditional industries, work programs, PIE, and transition services. 
  2. Secure public recognition and certification of industry training programs by utilizing and networking with business associations and agencies to obtain and maintain accreditation. 
  3. Based on needs analysis, develop, and coordinate the scheduling of the design, development, and implementation of new certified On-The-Job Training (OJT) programs or revision of existing programs to support productive industry performance.
  4. Work in cooperation with Industry Management on localized matters relating to OJT and other collateral activities such as remedial education, apprenticeships, job readiness and career development and other training and educational programs that impact and support the training and post-release job placement process.
  5. Enhance the Career Resource Centers by developing and implementing a structured educational framework that maps an individual's current intellectual level to a defined certification or career goal. This curriculum will function similarly to traditional academic pathways (e.g., grade school through college), providing a clear starting point and outlining the progressive steps (courses, competencies, and milestones) necessary for successful program completion and career readiness.
  6. Direct the transition program and activities related to the post-release job placement assistance and support services functions.
  7. Coordinate with Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO), for approval of PIE wage plans, non-inmate worker displacement, and existing contract impairment issues for new and existing PIE programs. 
  8. Develop job descriptions and wage determinations for new and existing PIE programs; perform required annual wage updates, generate, and implement new PIE wage plans.
  9. Manage the company’s Social Mission Goals as directed by PRIDE’s President.
  10. Collect, process, and report on post-release job placement of former PRIDE workers as may be requested by interested parties and monitor staff success in achieving goals as stated by PRIDE’s President. 
  11. Develop and administer the department’s annual operating budget, regularly monitoring purchasing and contractual commitments.
  12. Research, cultivate, and maximize external (grant) funding to underwrite program initiatives to enhance program opportunities.
  13. Liaison with the State of Florida, Court ordered Payment System, Accounting, Department of Corrections, Tallahassee, on issues related to PRIDE restitution contribution on behalf of inmate workers. Respond to inquiries from present and former workers, industry managers, and probation and parole officers regarding individual inmates’ restitution balances and PRIDE payments. 
  14. Maintain PRIDE’s visibility and professional relationships by membership in professional organizations, presentations, and published articles pertinent to correctional industries and PRIDE’s interest.
  15. Direct the Braille Program to include oversight of collaboration with the Florida Instructional Materials Center to produce Braille books in the State of Florida
  16. Direct the Culinary Program and Greyson’s Café that produces meals for purchase by institutional personnel.
  17. Direct Self Improvement Hubs (SIH) by working closely with FDC to achieve program objectives.
  18. Liaison between PRIDE President and inmate program participants for PRIDE’s inmate complaint process, both formal and informal
  19. Manage PRIDE new employee orientation (NEO) and FDC annual refresher training.
  20. Publish annual training calendar for FDC annual refresher and add NEO courses as required.
  21. Manage all training for employees to include processing of any annual contracts.
  22. Document training conducted by external agencies, e.g., Kaizen, management training at North Florida College.







Requirements
  1. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, or a related field required. Minimum of five years of experience in business or educational administration. Strong preference for candidates with grant experience, including writing, management, and reporting. Experience in financial operations and technology systems is also preferred.
  2. Language Skills: Ability to design, develop, plan, and create individual communications in a variety of media. Exceptional interpersonal, written and presentation skills.
  3. Mathematical Skills: Ability to interpret, manipulate, audit, and process data in reports, graphs, and data summaries attendant to position duties and responsibilities.
  4. Reasoning Ability: Strong critical thinking, analytical, and decision-making skills. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form.
  5. Specialized Knowledge and/or Skill: Effective skills in interfacing with field staff and coordinating staff from diverse business backgrounds. Experience and knowledge in the use of formal assessment tools to measure risk, need, and responsively for the development of programming. Certification as a workforce development professional preferred.
  6. Other Skills and Abilities: Strong identification with the mission and values at the core of PRIDE. A flexible team player that can manage numerous tasks simultaneously.
Salary Description
$108,900 - $136,000
